Iced Chai Latte Recipe

Every afternoon around 3pm I get what I like to call “the 3 o’clock slump”. You know what I am talking about – productivity starts to lag, lunch is settled in your tummy and you start to get a little tired. I wanted something to help pick me up in the afternoon that wasn’t coffee, so I started experimenting with fancy tea lattes. My favorite for awhile was a green tea latte but was ready for something different.

This Iced Chai Latte is warming and refreshing at the same time which helps perk you right up. This recipe allows for “barista’s choice” when it comes to the type of milk and sweetness level. I hope that you enjoy and it hits the spot for you next time you are hitting your 3 o’clock slump.

Ingredients

  • 2 Chai tea bags
  • 3/4 cup of water
  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 1-2 Tbs of honey or sweetener of choice
  • 1/2 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp of cloves
  • 1 cup of ice
  • 1 cinnamon stick for optional garnish

Instructions

1. Steep the 2 tea bags in the 3/4 cup of boiling water for 2 – 3 minutes

2. Put honey or preferred sweetener into glass and add the cinnamon and cloves

3. Pour the steeped tea concentrate into the glass with the honey and spices and stir to combine

4. Add the milk and ice and give one last stir to combine it all together

5. Top with the cinnamon stick and enjoy!

  1. I love to get the hot chai tea late. I find this at the Panera Bread restaurant. It isn’t that costly, and I drink it along with my meal, and some water. I love these, and they aren’t too, sweet.
